Synopsis
CHICKEN OF THE MOUND is the second animation feature made by the versatile artist and director CHEN Xi. The film is made purely by himself and is a periodical culmination of his consistent technical exploration.
It is an innovative challenge to the language of animation, a masterpiece with such rich layers that are worth careful examination, such as gaming poetic, character theory, etc. With his wild imagination and delicate presentation, director CHEN Xi guides us through the wondering adventure of a particularly curious lava chicken, his journey pondering on the existential problem.
Many animation critics have praised it as a game-changer in animation making, and compared it to David O’Reilly and Matrix.

CHEN Xi
CHEN Xi is a multi-skilled artist who spends his life creating fictional worlds that deal with the present and personal experience. He is an expert in painting and a maker of animation. In 2013, CHEN Xi started creating short animations. In 2016, CHEN Xi started making animated feature films. CHEN Xi's works have been exhibited in many countries and regions.
