Director's Note
"Neon Roses" is a deeply personal attempt to explore wild sexuality, absurdism, and unhindered imagination. The film combines bold, crazy plot lines with a mixed genre of comedy and thriller. At its core, however, it is a love story that transcends death and gender.
Iven Tu
Iven Tu is an independent film director based in New York. Iven's films frequently delve into themes of race, gender, and spirituality by traversing various genres, including thriller, fantasy, and dark comedy.
Iven is currently an MFA student at NYU Tisch School of the Arts, concentrating on writing and directing. His last film was an award-winning narrative short“Sand Land,”which screened in 16 international film festivals including the Oscar-qualifying Edmonton International Film Festival.
Having lived and studied in China, Canada and the US, Iven’s multicultural background informs his works in cinema and inspires him to shed light upon the untold stories of marginalized communities.
